This new statue appeared in Dublin a few weeks ago. Now we have Admiral William Brown watching the Liffey at the quay close to Grand Canal Docks. Brown was born in Co. Mayo but emigrated to the Americas and later became the ‘father of the Argentine navy’. I think that the statue adds some charm to this part of the docklands. I was lucky enough to be able to take a picture of it with a sail ship docked in the background. It was such an appropriate background. I used this picture for my grading exercise. It was not the most appropriate choice though. I should have picked an image with less contrast. Anyway, here are the pictures of Admiral Brown printed using filters 0, 3 and 5.
