Sentimental Journey – Budapest

Last year I thought I would go home to Poland for my two week holiday but I ended up having a great trip to Prague. This year I was also supposed to go home but I ended up going on a road trip lasting 11 days around south-eastern Europe. The trip was supposed to be similar to the ones my parents and I made around 30 years ago. At that time Yugoslavia was probably the most exotic travel destination that Polish people could have realistically considered.

We drove from Poland to Slovakia, Hungary, Bosnia & Herzegovina and finally to Croatia. Much has changed since our previous trips – some of the countries don’t exist anymore, some new ones have been created – but it was really interesting to see all these places again after so many years. Or maybe it was like seeing them for the first time as I was quite small last time and my memories are so vague…

The first set of pictures is from Budapest.
