Located at the heart of the Balkan peninsula, along the valleys of the Bosna and Naretva rivers, Sarajevo has long been a crossroads for eastern and western cultures. When walking down either Ferhadija Street or the parallel Mustafe Bašeskije Street it feels like one is travelling from Istanbul to old Vienna.
Sarajevo was probably the place we visited that I was most eager to see. I was there before but firstly, I was too small to remember it, and secondly, it was a couple of years before the Balkan war, so the city has changed a lot since then. Unfortunately, the weather was against us and the only rainy day we had during the journey was the one in which we were in Sarajevo. Nevertheless I did my best to make a photographic documentary of the city.
