The 9th Open House Dublin event took place last weekend. Although many of the buildings cannot be visited on any other occasion (e.g. Airbnb European HQ or the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation), many others can be seen any other day without queuing for 40 minutes to get inside. I am more interested in history than architecture and so my priorities were the older building or those that cannot be visited at any other time. This year I only managed to visit the Iveagh Trust Museum Flat, the Tailors’ Hall (the oldest surviving Guildhall in Dublin), King’s Inns and the Department of Jobs Enterprise and Innovation. However, I’m definitely going to see a few others in the coming weeks or months.
